Dynamic Driving
How we look after your information, and what rights you have over it.
Last updated: 29 July 2026
Dynamic Driving (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use dynamicdriving.co.uk or book driving lessons with us, why we collect it, what we do with it, and what rights you have over it.
We are the data controller for the information described in this policy. If you have any questions about it, or want to exercise any of the rights set out below, contact us using the details at the end of this page.
When you use the enquiry form on this website, we collect your name, your email address, your telephone number, the type of enquiry you are making, and whatever you choose to write in the message box. You give us this information voluntarily. We need your name and at least one contact detail in order to reply to you at all.
When you book and take lessons with us, we collect further information as part of running the lessons safely and lawfully. This includes your provisional or full driving licence details, your date of birth, your address, your test booking references, and records of lessons taken and payments made.
When you contact us by WhatsApp, we hold your mobile number and the messages you send us. If you join one of our WhatsApp groups, please be aware that other members of that group can see your mobile number and your display name. Joining a group is always your choice, and you can leave at any time.
When you visit this website, our hosting and security systems automatically record technical information including your IP address, your browser type and version, and the pages you visited. This happens for every visitor and is a normal part of running a website securely.
We do not knowingly collect any information about you from third parties, and we do not buy contact lists.
We only use your information for the purposes set out below. Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for each use, and ours are:
To answer your enquiry. When you send us a message, we use your contact details to reply to it and to follow up on it. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — you have asked us a question and it is in both our interests that we answer it.
To provide driving lessons you have booked. We use your information to schedule lessons, to confirm bookings, to record payment, to teach you, and to support you through your theory and practical tests. Our lawful basis is performance of a contract with you.
To send you news and offers, if you have asked us to. Where you have signed up to our mailing list, we use your email address to send you updates, offers and driving tips. Our lawful basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message we send, or by emailing us.
To meet our legal and regulatory obligations. We keep records required by HMRC for tax purposes, records required by our insurer, and records connected to DVSA requirements for approved driving instructors. Our lawful basis is legal obligation.
To keep the website secure and working. We use technical logs to detect and block attacks and to diagnose faults. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests in running a secure website.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
We only add you to our mailing list if you have asked to be on it. We will not add you simply because you have made an enquiry or taken lessons with us.
Every marketing email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also ask us to remove you at any time by emailing us, and we will do it promptly and without asking why. If you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal record of your email address on a suppression list purely so that we do not accidentally contact you again.
Being on the mailing list is entirely separate from booking lessons. Unsubscribing will never affect the service you receive.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.
We do share it with a small number of service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract and only on our instructions. These are our website host, which stores this website and its database; our email provider, which delivers the messages sent to and from us and any mailing list messages; our website security and performance services, which process visitor IP addresses to block malicious traffic; and WhatsApp, where you choose to contact us that way.
We may also share information where we are legally required to — for example with DVSA, with our insurer in the event of an incident, with HMRC, or with the police or another authority where the law obliges us to do so.
Where a provider processes information outside the UK, we make sure an appropriate safeguard recognised under UK data protection law is in place.
We take payment by cash or bank transfer. We do not take card payments through this website, and we do not store card details at any point. Where you pay by bank transfer, we hold the payment reference and the amount as part of our financial records.
We do not keep personal information for longer than we need it.
Enquiries that do not turn into a booking are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted, so that we can pick up the thread if you come back to us. Pupil records are kept for the duration of your lessons and then for up to 6 years afterwards, which is the period our insurer and HMRC require. Financial records are kept for 6 years from the end of the relevant tax year. Mailing list entries are kept until you unsubscribe. Website security logs are kept for a short period, typically no more than 30 days.
Once a retention period ends, we delete the information or anonymise it so it can no longer identify you.
This website uses cookies — small files stored on your device — to make the site work and to make it faster.
Some cookies are strictly necessary: they keep the site secure, remember your cookie preferences, and allow forms to be submitted. These are set automatically because the site cannot function properly without them.
Any cookies that are not strictly necessary — for example any used for analytics or advertising — are only set if you agree to them. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the cookie settings on the site, and you can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.
Many of our pupils are 17 or 18 years old, and some hold a provisional licence before their seventeenth birthday. We treat information about under-18s with particular care and collect only what we need to teach them safely and lawfully.
Where a pupil is under 18, we may ask for a parent or guardian’s contact details for booking, payment and safeguarding purposes, and we are happy to discuss lesson arrangements with a parent or guardian where the pupil is content for us to do so.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you; to have inaccurate information corrected; to ask us to delete information where we no longer have a good reason to keep it; to ask us to restrict how we use it while a concern is resolved; to object to our using it on the basis of legitimate interests; and to ask us to transfer it to you or another provider in a portable format.
Where we rely on your consent — for example for our mailing list or for non-essential cookies — you can withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did lawfully before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including an encrypted connection to this website, access controls on the systems that hold pupil records, and security monitoring on the website itself. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take our responsibilities here seriously and review them regularly.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date shown at the top of this page is the date it was last changed. Where a change is significant, we will make that clear on the website. This policy was created on 28 July 2026 and last updated on 29 July 2026.
